Service Area: Kowloon West (2) – Sham Shui Po District

The Hong Kong Single Parents Association understands that single parents often face emotional distress from family breakdowns, while also shouldering the heavy responsibility of raising their children alone under financial pressure.

To address these challenges, the Association provides comprehensive and targeted support through three key service areas: psychological support, child care, and employment assistance. Our aim is to empower single-parent families to rebuild confidence, achieve self-reliance, and lead fulfilling lives.

At the same time, the Association actively advocates for social policies that promote acceptance and respect for single-parent families, fostering understanding within the community and realizing our service mission of “Strengthen ourselves, Help ourselves, Then help others.”

Key Service Areas of the Regional Service Team (Sham Shui Po District)

Public Education and Promotion

Organize various community activities to promote and explain the Regulation on Subdivided Unit (SDU) Tenancy Control, enhancing awareness and understanding among residents and landlords.

Enquiry and Information Support

Respond to public enquiries regarding the SDU tenancy control regulations, and provide up-to-date information and practical resources to help tenants and landlords understand their rights and responsibilities.

Case Referral

Refer suspected unlawful tenancy cases to the Rating and Valuation Department for further investigation and follow-up.

Tenant Support and Care Actions

Provide practical support for subdivided unit tenants, including regular distribution of living supplies, gift packs, and daily necessities to show care for grassroots families and support their basic living needs.

Transitional Housing Referral

Assist eligible tenants in applying for and relocating to transitional housing projects to improve their living conditions.

Promotion of the Simple Homes Ordinance

Continuously promote and educate the community about the Simple Homes Ordinance, fostering public understanding and compliance with the new regulation.
